Rialacha Coláiste Acla

Riail na Gaeilge: Má bheirtear ar scoláire ag caint as béarla uair amháin, déantar nota faoin eachtra i leabhar an phríomhoide.  Má tharlaíonn sé faoi dhó, cuirtear glaoch ar na tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí.  Má tharlaíonn sé don tríú uair, tugtar rabhadh deireanach agus ar an cheathrú uair cuirtear abhaile an scoláire.Cuirtear an riail seo i bhfeidhm go dian agus go daingean sa choláiste seo.

Riail na Gaeilge: If a student is found speaking English for the first time, he/she is reported to the principal and a text is sent / call is made informing the parents of the incident. If a student is found speaking English for a second time, his/her parents/guardians are informed with a phone call. A third incident leads to a final warning, and a fourth incident results in dismissal from the Coláiste. This rule is strictly and fairly enforced.

Cód Iompair

• Cuirtear abhaile aon scoláire atá ciontach as a bheith ag bulaíocht aon scoláire eile /Bullying is viewed as a serious offence and may lead to dismissal.
• Caithfidh gach scoláire a bheith sa teach lóistín roimh 22:00 gach oíche. Each student must be in his/her lóistín by 22:00 hours. Failure to do so will lead to dismissal.

• Cuirtear abhaile aon scoláire a bhfuil scian, toitíní, vapes, E- Cigarettes alcól nó aon substaint chontúirteach acu in s(h)eilbh /Possession of a knife, alcohol, cigarettes, of vapes or E- Ci,garettes and any form of substance abuse is not permitted and will lead to dismissal. Possession is defined as, on their person or amongst their belongings.

In the event that Coláiste Acla believes a student to be in possession of a prohibited item, we will seek permission from parent/guardian to conduct a bag search.  Should permission to search be refused the student will be asked to leave the Coláiste.

• Any student wishing to leave the Colaiste must have permission from the principal. Tá cead scríofa riachtanach má tá aon scoláire ag iarraidh áit ar bith atá faoi údarás an choláiste a fhágáil.
• We require that students hand up their mobile phone to the Bean an Tí every evening after their allotted usage time. They are permitted their phones between 22:00-22:15 each night in the house dining room or the immediate vicinity of the house. 

A student found in possession of a phone outside of the permitted times 22:00- 22:15 compromises the safety and privacy of all other students/minors. This is a serious breach of child protection and will lead to dismissal from the Coláiste.

Tá stiúrthóirí an choláiste i ‘loco perentis’ maidir le gach scoláire a fhreastalaíonn ar an gcúrsa.  Caithfidh gach tuismitheoir/caomhnóir glacadh le rialacha an choláiste trí an bosca a líionadh ar an bhfoirm iarratais. Chomh maith leis sin, caithfidh said glacadh leis an mbealach ina láimhseálann na stiúrthóirí aon sharú rialacha.  Tar éis an bosca a líonadh ar an bhfoirm iarratais, beidh ar an tuismitheoir/caomhnóir glacadh go hiomlán le cinneadh deirneach an choláiste.

As the directors of Coláiste Acla are in a position of loco parentis vis-à-vis each person accepted into ColáisteAcla and the parents/guardians of those persons shall accept the rules of Colaiste Acla by ticking the box on the application form. Parents / Gaurdians / students also agree to accept the manner in which the directors of Coláiste Acla deal with any breach of the rules and will comply with the decision reached by the directors of Coláiste Acla.

Information may be released to release to GP if any treatment is required. Photographs may be taken for promotional/formal use. 

Áit curtha ar ceal / Cancelling your place

Má bhíonn áit ceallaithe, caithfidh sé a bheith tabhartha chuig an Coláiste ar ríphost nó téacs. Ní thugtar deposit ar ais i gcás ar bith. All cancellations must be advised to Coláiste Acla by text or email. All deposits are non refundable and non transferable.

Cancellations made within 8-6 weeks of commencement date are subject to a cancellation charge of 50% of total fees. Cancellations made within 5-2 weeks of commencement of course are subject to a cancellation charge of 75% of total fees. Cancellations made within 2 weeks of commencement of course are subject to a cancellation charge of 100% of total fees.

Ag dul abhaile go luath / Going home early

Má roghnaítear ag aon dalta dul abhaile go luath ón gcúrsa de bharr aon chúis, ní thugtar na táille ar ais i gcás ar bith.

If a student wishes to leave the course early for any reason, there will not be a refund of fees.

Lóistín

Tá an ceart ag an gcoláiste an lóistín a eagrú do na scoláirí de réir mar a theastaítear.

The Coláiste reserve the right to accommodate students as it sees fit. Friends are accommodated in groups of 2/3. Large groups will not be accommodated in the same house

Please note students will be placed in accommodation with at least one friend. Rooms are allocated at the discretion of the Bean an Tí.

Rialacha na dTithe

Labhraíonn gach duine Gaeilge sa teach. Irish is spoken at all times in the house.

Tá an biachlár céanna i ngach teach. Each house has the same menu.

Food is not permitted in bedrooms.

Déanann an Bhean an Tí an níochán do gach dalta faoi dhó i rith an chúrsa agus tá costas €10 ar seo (ag braith ar an aimsir) Laundry will be done by the Bean an Tí twice during the course at a cost of €10 (weather dependent).

Níl cead fón, aerosol, ceamara nó fón a bheith sa seomra codlata. Phones, Aerosols, cameras  are not allowed in the bedrooms.

Tugtar na fóin póca don Bhean an Tí ag tús an chúrsa agus faightear iad idir 22:00 agus 22:15. Phones collected are given to the Bean an Tí upon arrival and students have use of their phones between 22:00 and 22:15.

Bíodh gach dalta in s(h)eomra féin ag 22:30 agus soilse múchta ag 23:00. Each student is to be in his or her own room at 22:30 and lights out at 23:00. Students who are disruptive at night will be expelled from the Coláiste.

Glantar na seomraí roimh an bricfeasta gach lá. Bedrooms are to be cleaned before breakfast each morning.

Má bhriseann dalta aon rud sa teach, beidh air íoc as. If a student breaks anything in the house, they must pay for it.

Bíonn cith amháin ag gach dalta in aghaidh an lae. Students are allowed one shower per day.

Ar an tráthnóna deireanach caithfidh gach dalta a m(h)ála a phacáil agus a b(h)raillín a thabhairt síos staighre ar an lá deireanach. Students must pack their bags on the last evening and bring their sheets downstairs on the last day.
